just learned that a C18XE exists what do we know about it, apart from my mate says that there rare and thay came in early mk3 astras.

its a big block engine...

not worth it, if thinking of fitting one, they are only 115bhp..

Big block.
Same as an X18XE or X20XEV basically (block wise), but the C18XE had no EGR stuff.

it's a heavy slow ecotec engine..

there's your answer..

why bother when c20xe or c20xev's have more power out the box

Going off Total Vaux, Astra MkIII GSI 125PS with the C18XE had 124bhp and 124 lb/ft

1.8 astra sport is 115bhp
1.8 astra gsi is 125bhp

both mk3's

c18xe is pretty nippy, there's one in my workhorse astra its 130 odd bhp not 115

all the c18xe's i have seen that have been properly rolling roaded have all made well over 130 bhp and some even over 140

its the x18xe1 thats 115bhp, its a small block engine tho so if ugrading from a x14xe it would be a very easy conversion to do. and few more horses than the x16xe
