oh and the current mot does not run out till the end of this month. i like to do mine a little early instead of letting it run out.

good luck.

Out of interest i have my car MOT'd for a month, and am going to get it tested early. If i fail next week will the previous one still cover me?

no as from when it fails its unsafe to use on the roads and cancels the old one even if you have a month left on it

Your old MOT is still valid even if it fails the new one, I checked with the garage before I took mine back home to sort it out. Your retest is only free if you leave the car with the garage until it's fixed, though.

im sure it says that on the fail slip but i took mine away done repairs and took it back the next week and got it for free..

Maybe mot station trying to bump you?

Some stations offer a free retest within 7days, aslong as you take the paperwork. of what failed.

It was the fail slip I read it on, but I needed the car so I couldn't just leave it there. My retest only cost around £20 though.

if you leave it with them, no retest fee, but if you take it away get the repair's done it's usually upto the mot station, whether or not to charge you..

i took mine away when it failed and fixed it myself, and got a free restest

emission were 0.148 to high, the 0.038 to high

it has new manifold, cat, exhaust system all less than 8 month old.

all sai and egr is still connected and working
no eml at all

mine failed on the "B" pillars being corroded.
