Cant go wrong with powder coating, Wont chip like paint and is alot more hard wearing.

I've had my wheels hot enough to cook eggs and it has not effected the finish of the rim and yet i know it gets hot as the calipers have gone a shit colour red the red they were when i brought the car.

I'd go darker on yours bieran

i thort you had to be carefull with powder coating? i heard that if the surface that meets the hub was coated your wheels could become loose as the powder compress's over time? also if you chip 1 doesnt the whole lot peel away??

You're not supposed to have the mounting face coated, and it doesn't peel off any more than paint, it's less likely to chip though, and doesn't get damaged as easily.

The finish is determined by the type of powdercoat you use. You can get gloss, satin, matte, egg shell, heavy texture, blah....

You can get a pretty good finish, but it's a pretty cheap industrial finish at the end of the day so it's not going to beat a really nice paint job. Though saying that there are some people who can do some pretty good stuff with it now....
