I believe they are legal, as there are a few people with them on, and they come standard on some cars.

The conversion kits fitted to non HID lamps will often fail the MOT and dazzle other road users.

theres no law that has been passed on HID conversions, as long as they pass an MOT and are the right temperature (colour) then they are legal.

however some kits are rubbish and will never pass an MOT.

It's not the dip that makes the difference, the lamps are not designed for HID bulbs so you don't get an accurate beam, thus causing dazzle.

i beleive the dip dropped the line of "dazzle" my mates seem to get annoyed when its not diped and not annoyed when its dipped, so it must have some effect...

I can see what other mean though, they do get annoying but i have a reason for gettin them.

the HIDs in the morettes had a more direct and focused beam than standard lamps with halogen bulbs. I guess on something like a peugeot 106 where the lamps are really big then the beam pattern wont be as good.
