Refuse to meet at the airport.

If he wants the car, he'll find his way to you, then you can take your time with the transaction.

He's coming all that way so a bus ride will not make much difference if you ask me.

Are you going to show him round your house or something? Take a friend or 2 and you'll be fine!

My brother sold a BMW a few months ago. He had about 4 or 5 different people from Ireland phone him, a few where coming over to see it. Some wanted to meet at the airport others said they would come to our house. It sold to the first one that arrived and he come to our house, payed with a big wad of 50s and then on the ferry back home.

They do it with some cars because they can get a lot more for them in Ireland.

My brother sold his for £2000, on irish autotrader they are going for £4000.

So it's probably just the same.

Should be able to get a good price for it too.

It's upto you where you meet him tho, if you're not happy meeting him at the airport, chances are he'll make the effort to get to you, if not someone else will.

Another way to look at it aswell is if you meet him at the airport, you know he's got a huge wad of cash on him. He'll be taking a bigger risk than you.

no hassle folk from here go to england for cars all the time, meeting at the airport etc is just handier for them coming over. plane over and boat back

cars tend to be alittle cheaper in mainland and more examples to choose from, thats why folks from here go over to buy cars

just ask for proof of it being taken out of bank too, print out or anything really is better then nothing

if they are fakes notes you can soon get rid of them

get him to come to the bank with you as you pay it in. no problems.

Done this with my last car for a substantial amount. The buyer had no problems as he was genuine.
