Took it in to BAT as their electrics guy was going to look at the central locking (remote doesn't work and its de-locked so you need to enter via the boot). While it was in we talked about fixing the fact its a bit smokey so I agreed to a rebuild

Went in today and the head was off and stripped. One of the valve guides has displaced so was leaking oil in to the cylinder, so that needs pressing back in. Rest of it is in good shape but they're putting piston rings in and a bit of other preventative stuff while its in bits.

I've SORN'd it to ease the financial pain slightly

This is the one that's in my garage.

Number 2 I've not bought yet. Few logistical issues to overcome, like moving it and storing it. Nothing major

rather than press the seal back in, why not replace them? they are only £16 a set of 16.
