Hey guys
I only bought the car about month ago, and im 17 taking lessons. Its a X reg 2001 Vauxhall Corsa LS, opel, 3DR, 1.0. Im looking into insuring it in about 3 weeks as im on holiday till then. But ive rung companies and they said that an LS 2001 corsa dosent exist but it says on my logbook its a 2001 LS.
Any ideas, or solutions on what i can do?
I can only find a 1997 LS

I had this issue with mine, the logbook had the car down as a 2.5GLS TD AUTO AC which didn't exist (was a petrol) and I had issues getting insurance

Just keep on at them, but try independant brokers too, not just big corps

if it's an genuine opel.... it will be an import, hence why it might not be showing...

will cost more to insure too iirc

My thoughts exactly - sounds like it might have been bought from a car supermarket thing like Trade-Sales.co.uk! It can still be a full import, even in right hand drive.

Vauxhall didn't make a Corsa C in LS guise. I'm pretty sure the basic was Comfort. They did do a GLS however for a little while.

But the weird thing is that 1) The license plate dosent come up on most insurance sites, 2) On tesco insurance it detects the car as a 1997-1999 corsa LS, 3) On my car auction invoice it lists the car as a 97 x reg car. Quinn direct keep saying that its a mistake and that it must be 1997 LS as they never made a 2001 LS. What do you guys think i should do? Cheapest quote ive got is £1540, i need to insure it soon. Any thoughts
Many thanks

And it will still be covered under the insurance if i put it as a GLS? Would it make a difference if i insured it as a 1997 opel LS? the only difference would be the year, but they would have the registration number for the car.

Think ive come up with the solution. They didnt make a 2001 opel LS so i know its been imported and on the invoice it says its a 97 imported LS ,first reg'd in 2001. So it is possible its been driving around unregistered until it came here in 2001 where it has to be re- registered anyway and the owner registered it in 2001 and put the X reg plates on it?
Is this possible? i know nowt bout cars so im catching on slowly. But im gonna ring the DVLA this afternoon.
Many thanks for helping me out so far.

My Corsa was an Irish import. Bit of hassle getting insurance as well.
