I've just started as a salesman at my local Vauxhall dealer..
After my first 3 months I'm entitled to a company car, I just dont know whether its worth my while. It would be about 130 - 140 a month and that would it, petrol etc all paid for. I live 5 minutes away so I'm not doing many miles these days so I dont know whether its worth my while.
Other option is to blow about 3 to 4k on building my ultimate Mk2 and use it as my daily due to the low mileage I'll be doing..
opinions??

Not sure of your circumstances kano but my two flatmates work as car salesmen with Arnold Clark and are both paying alot more than £140 a month for their company cars.
My mate got a focus diesel company car and he's paying £240 a month tax on the car alone, same as my other flatmate, he's got an a3 diesel and he's about £240 aswell.
If you live close then defo buy your own mate, mrk 2 sounds awesome, your last one was one of the nicest i've seen

I'm pretty sure its different from garage to garage.. Different franchises, situations etc...
I'd end up selling the company car...

Wouldnt bother with the company car if your not going to be doing the miles in it - the tax is quite crippling.
As for my golf, im really not wanting to part with it

I doubt they're paying that amount in tax tbh. That more likely sounds the amount of Benefit In Kind of the amount for the cars they are driving. They will be taxed on £240 as if they'd earnt that in cash, so 20% of £240 is how much PAYE they pay each month, £48.
