It's an American 3 year only car.

But if his dad only wants it for that long then perfect.

He changes every year or 2.

I've tried to tempt him with a VXR Monaro. He says its too fast and too big.

Still, Jag 4.2 is still looking promising. I think it would suit him better than a boxster. I think he'd push the boxster too hard and given his injury rate, we don't need any more cuts, broken bones and muscles

No matter how good a car the boxster is, or what car anybody else is driving, the only thing they will think about it is poor mans 911, even if they are in a rusty old nova.

Ahhhh and my old man will be sitting thinking what i've written above.

you've just spent £100k on your 190mph porsche, and i've got a £16k bike that will go quicker, and looks better (matter of opinion). And still got enough money to nearly buy a house.....

I know what i'd choose

He's in his late 40's, i think he's past "oh lordy, what will chav in his nova think"

Yeah but i could say I have a 8.5k bike that will go faster then your 16k bike and so on.
172 scooters will do 1/4 miles in 12 seconds now days and they cost 2k so will have 14k in there pocket over your motorcycle.

911 vs bike on the track and the 991 wins it for me.
Has been tested on tv before and the 911 won and the bike rider was either bsb or motogp.

You only lose out with cars anyways.
Tax, insurance, mot's and so on

his an oldish man so needs refinement i guess.

I honestly dont see the point in these threads, because half the people who ask people to suggest a car for them, have already made up their mind on the car they want already (in this case the chysler crossfire). Also I wouldn't imagine this guy is likely to go out and spend between 15-20k on a car just because someone on corsasport suggested it!

Exactly....

Im trying to drum up more ideas. So far, no-ones really come up with anything suitable.

Im saying noit to get the Crossfire.

My old man hasn't made his mind up, he's sitting at home after having about 15 rods and pins taken out his leg after being knocked off last year. He's bored and looking to spend his money

His suggestion of cars is not all that great. If I knew what cars to suggest to him, do you think i'd of posted in the first place??????

And will look like every other Sports bike that everyone already has, a GSXR1000, an R1, yadder blah boring..

What about the Lexus SC? They look a bit quirky with the roof up- and clearly better when the roof is down. Interior is better than the Honda S2000 (IMO tho) and they're fun to drive as well (again IMO). Only thing is the engine is a 4.3... Not sure your dad would be interested in something like that?

Just because internet forums think "poor mans 911" doesnt mean everyone on the road does, 9 times out of 10 people see a porsche and think its nice, and usually cant tell the difference. Boxster or the Jag id say.

Possibly a suggestion. Looks a bit different, not too quick, comfy, i'll suggest that one.

He's looking at the previous shape jap coupes with the 4.2 as well. Not massivly fast (like the lexus), just a big smooth engine.

Things like the Audis etc all have 4 doors, he won't be really interested in that.

Other thing is a 2.7 boxster is a great balanced drive.

Basically a bigger version of the MX5, with the engine in the boot...
