Just luck really, more revs and it could of been completely different.

A mates 1400 spi snapped its belt, and bent valves.

SOme vauxhall 8v engines are 100% safe regardless of engine revs..

the 8 valve can be made just as quick as the 16 valve.they are only down by 20 bhp anyway.they are a more reliable and easier to work on engine.

standard - lose

with a few mods - easily the same

i used to have an seh in my nova (i know its a lot lighter but) and i used to embarress red top owners with just a K&N and full system including 421.

the 8v's make good gains too

My ne's running at about 125 and i've only spent like 150 on it. 150 for a 12bhp gain aint bad

i love em.
