now the 1080p is the better system and if you talk to a shop ect they will tell you that its Great.

But 1080p will never be used because there is band wibth issues. Cant fit 1080p or alot off it on a blue Ray, and defo not sky HD, that will always be 1080i or lower

There may be a slight differenc with standard broadcast, dvd and blueRay on a 1080p set but back to back bet there aint many would tell them apart and the price difference is massive.

And even if you where to tell the difference it would only be on bigger than 42" sets

err your half way there.

There are band width issue at present, but with technology getting more advance every day. in around 2 - 3 years time there wont be these issues with faster and more compident connections.

They can fit true 1080p onto a 50gb blu ray disc

sky hd included. It does output 1080p. Thats why there are the band width issues (as mention above)

Saying it will always be 1080i or lower is very naive. There is already talk about higher resolutions than 1080p. thats about 5 years away though

Yes its only really noticable on a 40" + but to buy a 1080p tv, is "future profing". Like i said before, technology is always improving.

to be honest, bandwidth is one of the main problems for broadcasters. Both 720p and 1080i use the same amount of bandwidth, but obviously 1080p is double that (uncompressed footage is around 350MB/sec), and at the moment, current codecs aren't brilliant. So it's going to be a while before you see 1080p being broadcasted, even on SKY/Sat tv which (currently) has the biggest capacity.
