Having done the Lotus Exige experience over the weekend and loving it, I want to do some more track driving.

I've found out by email (not listed on their website), they do an intensive track training day for £500 where you get 1-to-1 tuition in the Exige, training on skidding (including a go in their Audi A4s, taught about the flags etc etc, some more track tuition, then a race in caterhams round the inner curcuit.

Anyone done this? Seems a lot of money but being out on that track was incredible, gotta be the most exciting feeling ever

Worth £500??

If you're looking at the Motorsport Academy stuff we offer then it is more aimed at teaching you driving skills .etc as oppose to the driving days where you go round and have some fun.

I think you'd probably find it a good investment especially if you wanted to do more track days in the future. It may be worth looking at the personal tuition on its own, http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/ma_raceCoaching.php - you can bring along your own car on this one as well especially if you were looking to improve how you drive it .etc

I'd say those are some good options in terms of improving your track driving, failing this u2u me your mobile number and I can get someone from the academy to call you

Cheers for the reply

On the personal tuition, do you just pay by the hour when you're there, so the more you do, the more it costs or you book a block beforehand?

Wouldn't mind just saying I'd do 2 hours in the Lotus but it gets expensive quickly. Wouldn't be much good in my own car either TBH (1.2 Corsa C )

I think the £500 track day would be the best at the moment, really want the time on track without it costing the earth.....I can see the personal tuition just going on and on and I'd have to stop due to costs......

You'd book a block in advance mate as far as I know, doubt you'd be able to do a pay as you go top up It is expensive, but, if you think about the costs of the car, tyres, brakes, instructors time, fuel .etc .etc it's not too much for what you're getting... the £500 one you were offered appears to have a good mix of things, may well be worth something considering and then progressing on to 1 to 1 (althought you do get it in the £500 one, but is it an hour?)

Oh yeh, I can defo see why it costs what it costs, but not sure the bank managers gonna like it

Think I might go for the £500 one......I think 1-to-1 is the way to go if I decide I really want to do more racing, but the full day would be a good middle-man if you like.......

Now, to find, beg, borrow or steal () £500.....

Cheers pal
