Ok, hopefully i can explain this . . .
I have ordered a new car for september delivery. I am selling my current car privately, if i was to sell my car now, it is 6 weeks until sept 1st, so what happens 2 my insurance? can they suspend the policy until new car is received? or would the policy have to be cancelled and reinstated on sept 1st? Or do i not tell them and wait for the new reg to come through n swap over?
My main concern is that the buer of my car will have trouble insuring it if it is already insured by me!
If i have to cancel the policy i will loose 10 months no claims and start back at 4 years ncb.
Any help would be much appreciated!

If you cancel the policy get them to send you the proof of 10months no claims.
Then after 2 months on another policy you have 12months no claims bonus.

If you cancel the policy you will lose the 10 months. You can freeze the policy but you would have to stay with your current insurer for the new car. Not all places offer this. You can't take a frozen policy from one broker to another. It's a pain but you can always risk not informing them.

Dont tell them then and let the policy run for the 6weeks.
