I wrote my car off last week and am currently going throught the claim process. I'm waiting on the offer letter coming through, and the insurnace company have said they will be wanting me to send them some documents.
What documents will these be? I'm worried I may have lost my MOT & insurance documents, as its been such a long time since I've last had to use them, especially now you can buy the tax online... Need to know so I can start rooting for them.
Also, will they need my licence, or will they make do with just a copy? I'm wanting to go do my bike test soon, and don't want to be waiting for the insurnace to return it to me before I can proceed with that... they've taken long enough just to assess the car!

If it is your insurance company, I guess they'll have some insurance documents
With regard to MOT, hope it hasn't expired and they should be able to trace it via the PNC.
Drivers licence, no idea.

Yeah, its MOT'd... and the reason I asked about the insurance certificate is cos I thought they may want it back as it is no longer applicable.
Something that's now playing on my mind though is wether or not I rang them to tell them of my last set of points... They were aquired at a bit of a bad time; lots of things going on at the time, and I'm beginning to doubt myself about if I informed them. Would the police/DVLA already have informed them if not? Should I ring them and ask?

all you should need to send back is the v5 and your insurance certificate

When mine was a total loss I think I had to send them the MOT certificate & V5. Mine had a private plate on it which I obviously wanted off the car so they changed it on the MOT certificate which they returned to me as I bought the car back for spares.
I cant remember if they wanted my driving license or not, I know I've never sent off the original so if they did ask for it I must have sent them a copy.
