Basicly was cruising down the motorway at a steady 80 as you do and out of nowhere police come up behind me flashing away blues n toos going etc.
I indicate to pull over and they just switch lights off and drive past.
Mom thinks its because they hate ppl who sit in middle lane which is what i was doing

Well your in the middle lane....
Get to the inside..... Re-read the highway code.
Cannot stand people who sit in the middle lane, whether its 40mph or 90mph...

Same here Daimo, slows down the flow of traffic especially when they are not going fater than the car in the inside lane.

I dnt see the problem wiv sittin in the middle lane
If you want to overtake you can simple
and seein as there was masses amounts of lorries on the inside lane i dnt see the point in keep moving back an forth.

Slows the flow of traffic.
Your sitting in the middle lane, if im travelling on the inside lane I have to pull out 2 lanes to overtake, to only pull back in again.
Your highway code says to keep left. In europe, they have big signs, "KEEP LEFT".
We are the worst for it, and over the last 6 years its got much worse, because people have exactly that attitude.
Makes me laugh, i ride home my bike and sit on the inside lane, every single day, for about 3-4 miles, because people are sitting in the middle and outside lane. It reduces traffic flow, it reduces lanes, and if i undertake you becuase your hogging the middle lane, I can get put in jail for it.
Its rediculas. And so are middle lane hoggers. Im very suprised you havent read a post on a car forum slagging off people who do it. Very bad driving sense.
As said, should be made part of the test as it causes traffic jams everywhere. Whether your doing 80mph or 40mph.

Well in my situation yday you wudnt be on the inside lane because you would be kissing the lorries arse. The motorway was quite quiet appart from lorries on the inside lane.
If youve just passed 5 odd lorries and you can see another group just up ahead idealy wouldnt you just stay where you are.
And also its not like i was sttin there doin 60 letting lorries overtake me i was doing 80 so therefore i should be holding up traffic

I hate people that sit in the middle lane, Ive noticed recently that the traffic update boards have been showing KEEP TO THE LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING

You never said that.
And you've said you've been flashed for sitting in the middle lane. So there must have been an awfully long distance between lorries.
You said you were flashed, im telling you why.
I sit in the inside lane as often as possible. Don't see peoples problems with it. When i approach lorries, i use things call mirrors and indicators and pull into the middle lane, then back to the inside lane again.
No point sitting in the outside lane. And the highway code dictates to move left. End of
