Hi all,
last week I booked a test drive of the corsa vxr for this morning, they called me the next day to confirm the time of the test drive.
Went in there this morning, and all they had to say was:
"uuuuumm.......the manager has gone out today, and the corsa vxr isnt here.......he's ummmmmmmm.......taken it I think, could you come back this afternoon?"

No I can't come back this afternoon, thats why I f*cking booked it for this morning, and when you asked me to confirm the time I said 10am and you said that was fine.
unbelieveable, booked a week in advance and they couldn't even sort that out!
I think I'd rather spend my money on a second jap import seeing as vauxhall's sales team don't know their arse from their ears!
The guy I booked it with was a cretin too, thought my email address was "a funny one" when it has 'myname@yahoo.com', whats hard to understand about that?

Appologies for the rant!

In all fairness the owner of our vauxhall dealership tends to choose certain cars as her 'run abouts' and fucks everyone else up who is trying to sell the things.

Tell them they have lost a sale, then they will be gutted

Same happened to me but with a Corsa C SXi 1.2 booked week in advance went in on the day, wanted me to buy the car before test driving it, when I said no they wouldn't let me have a drive, never been near since.

Was a 1.2 for fook sake, asked me to agree to buy before i test drove the car vauxhall dealers are cocks.

BMW let me out in Mini Cooper S at 18 and Vauxhall wouldn't let me in a SXi

Fuck wits

They're not supposed to let anyone under 25 drive one anyway.

Everytime i got in my vauxhall dealer i get pissed off! The sales bloke said 'can i have a look at your car i like it'! He thort it was a redtop because it had black rims and he flips the hood and goes thats a good air filter/induction kit (cheap universal one) and i said 'im after a air box they are loads better' and he goes 'ner mate thats fine, its your cold air feed is a shocker of a job thats whats causing your problems (its ali tube runing from grill to the kit). Since when has a cold air feed made your engine worse? And he goes 'yer my indcution kit' (then proceeds to point to a 1.1 saxo with saxo literally carved out into the boot - jap bodykit, lexus lights and two backboxs with a 8inch dia!) Im not taking performance tips from someone who drives a car like that!

And everyother time i go to the parts desk ( i always go in to compare prices with the net) i say im after such and such part - they ask me what car - reply 1996 corsa sport 1.4 - which to i get stupid answers like - so its not the 1.2 then or 16v, i thort they was an 8valve! Come on guys sort it out!

I went to test drive a new Corsa D when they first came out and they also had no idea i was coming when though i booked an appointment they day before.

To be honest vauxhall are shit these days and there build quality isnt much better either. My C is 3 years old and its almost fit for the scrapyard.

Bits of the interior are falling off (broken clips), the rear brakes hardly work even after a rebuild, the alternator tensioner is failing after only 3 years and so far vauxhall have given me 3 different milage figures for a cambelt change on my car. I might as well talk to someone arse about my corsa, they'd probabaly know more.

Half the time I think they do this sort of thing on purpose to gauge the level of interest the person has in the car.....

After all, you would be 'interested' if you make the effort to book a second appointment...test pilots probably wouln't bother

Mines been problem after problem so far. Even with its rebuilt rear brakes i have to pull the handbrake up so tight i have to use 2 hands to take it off, otherwise the car rolls down our hill. I think its only a matter of time till the cable gives up.

The alternator tensioner thats should last for 10 years or 100,000 miles is going after 3 1/2 years and 52,500 miles. Vauxhall wanted £200 to fix this and wouldnt help with the costs at all because the car is 4 months out of warranty, even though the part has only lasted half the time it should have.

The trim thats covers the belt at the top of the seat belt mount and the bit that covers one side of the front seats both fall over if they are touched. The paint on the heandbrake lever has also chipped off.

Also, for the car after speaking to vauxhall 3 times and looking in the service booklet, i have been told the cambelt should be changed at 100,000 miles or 10 years (once on the phone and once by email), at 65,000 miles or 10 years (service booklet) or 60,000 miles or 10 years (at the main dealer). Its lucky dip as to who you want to believe.

Its a nice car but its the most unreliable thing ive ever seen. Its spent more time in garages in a month than my 13 year old corsa did in 18, and thats even if you count the services it had!

My old corsa was very good to me, but as i say this new one is rather bad, and theres no excuses for vauxhall having no idea when the cambelt is due either.

Speaking of alternator problems, the alternator on my dads vectra went at 60-70k (unit failure, not belt) and just today the alternator on my friends 8 year old astra thats only done 17,000 miles has also died (seems to be unit failure again, not belt).

Im sure they make these things out of butter.

I dont think I want to deal with vauxhall dealers anymore, they seem to make a tit out of themselves at every given opportunity, wasting my time is hardly going to encourage me to buy the car!

I've been to drive stuff in the past and the cars are not there. Happened a few times at different places. May be a tactic to deter casual test drivers but it does make them look shonky.

Wouldnt think its a sales tactic, if so its a hell of a loss leader, buddy you just lost out on a sale of £16k

Ive never went to test drive a car & it not be there, if it was id be giving a bollocking for wasting my time then telling the sales manager im off to 'someone that knows what there doing' to spend my £16k.
