I had this problem playing games on my laptop so i bought a tiny infra-red mouse off ebay for £6 or summin... awesome...

get the plane in, then get the cursor around to the window and drag through. a bit harder but goes further

set the plane in the top left corner and take the cursor out of the screen.
take the cursor around the outside of the playing part of the screen and drop it back in on the right hand side slightly above the skirting board.
