Anyone on here got one?
I have bought a Felicia, comments aside has anyone got/owned one before?
My clio is now for scrap, after everything on it decided to commit suicide (*cough* after i hit a coach *cough*)
Its a 1999 Skoda Felicia, VW engine thingy, 39k, one owner, red 5 door
Its nice to drive and about as fast as my clio (my clio was a 1.2 8v, the skoda is a 1.3)
Please resist slamming me for buying it Richie has the expensive/nice car and seeing as i only need to get to work and back i really cant warrant spending 2 - 3k on somthing 'nice' when we can get a run around thats gunna last a good few years for £700!

1.3 OHC iirc, or pushrod, if it has the early colour coded grill its all skoda, later ones with the big black plastic grill have alot more vw parts on them

Diesel wasnt an option, as this was the cheapest car with low mileage what i could afford without getting a loan or living on beans on toast for the next 3 months!

Thanks Mr Jr and SetH, Im so pissed off with looking for somthing that looks half decent!
S Reg corsa with similar miles was £1200 - 1500 and it just seems like a waste of money when i dont want to mod it, rag it, or cruise etc in it!

It will be better built and more reliable then an S reg corsa, IMO of course.
Obvioulsly will depend on the exact two cars being compared, but generally on the basis of marque and model.

Yeah i know what you mean, one pristine corsa compared to one ragged skoda and the results would be different
But thanks, feel alot happier knowing this one is going to be more reliable, and its a 5 door so i feel all grown up now

i have a felicia pick up 1300.
Not sure if the engine is the same in the face lift one, but my engine is all skoda. the 1600 and 1900d engines were the vw ones.
problems i've found so far are leaky windscreen, huge play in the gear linkage, dodgy door locks, and sticking switches inside. the programable intermitent wiper function has confused me a few times too.
good cars. mine a '96 with 70k, and cost £500. had it 18months and only time it's let me down was with a dead alternator.

Got her last night, im really pleased anywho
.... 15 minutes of trying to figure out how to get the petrol cap off and looking like a flange in the tesco petrol station
£40 to fill her right up as well, my clio was £35 so not too bad! Nicer to drive it anyway, my clio felt like it was going to implode or commit aggressive suicide when i got onto the M4 yesterday morning
