It's tragic, but there's no need for everyone to start screaming at Ollie calling him a twat and a dickhead in every sentence. Granted, he may of been a bit blunt about what he was saying, but there's no need to go on a personal attack. You can argue with him, but to call him a dickhead/twat/cunt and wish it happened to someone he knew... that's just below the belt
RIP

His foot got caught in some sort of grille apparantly. Still seems proppa harsh, foot goes in, surely it must come out.
Very unlucky.
Thank god we all cant see the date that everyone has on our foreheads when are number is up!

Surely if they'd have just chopped his foot of he would be guaranteed to die from disease/infection - muddy water ain't exactly the cleanest substance is it.....
RIP.

Do you honestly believe you're guaranteed to die if you touch muddy water with an open wound?

Not medical am I, but cutting off a foot submerged in filthy water (which will be foul as well as dirt/grime etc) isn't going to be a good result is it???

You don't have to be medical to choose risking infection on your foot or death.
Although having said that this is all pie in the sky it may not have even been an option for the emergency services.

I'm lost on this TBH
3 hours?
Why didn't the emergency services just put a winch on the grille/gully and rip it out of the ground?
RIP
Seems bloody weird though

No one knows anything about the events leading up to this guys death , what surrounds it i.e the danger of where he was so why be so quick to "investigate" ?
Very horrible death , rip.

At a guess, they did their best.
Anyone not there and not in a position to comment should really hold back until they know the facts, which in all probability were that everything possible was done.
I'm sure if you were there you would have had all this machinery and supplies at your immediate disposal and it would have all worked in the middle of a river.

Yep,
And my best guess is that there will be a £1m inquest that would be money better spent on better equipment.
