Need a new chop/mitre saw for work. Looking at this : ebay

Seem to get the best of both from it but Im wondering if quality of one or the other may not be great due to it being a combo ?

there pretty good, we have a de walt 210mm one at work, think its the dw 707, you can get these for around £250 from b&q and its less bulky than the makita

think i know the one you mean. What are they like for doing bevel cuts etc , does the table not get in the way ?

Didnt know B&Q did them , 110v ?

there ideal for skirting and fine work like that, but anything bigger than 4x2 it struggles a bit, dont think they have them in stock, but they may be able to order them in, what you going tbe using it for, 1st fix or 2nd?

There are a couple on ebay , cant decide btween the two.

Im going to used mainly for 2nd , but 1st from time to time.

I find that with cheaper saws like these the blade can move about a bit when doing rip cuts , which is no good and not something I want.

Do you find that happens at all ?

B&Q can get 110v in for you if it has a trade counter

it did it with the blade you get with it, but when we changed it to one of the fine TCT blades it didnt do it that much, just looking in the screwfix book and there £270 in the 110, and the makitas are about £350

Dad's been a joiner for about 40 years and uses these all the time, Dont think he owns a hand saw anymore

He recently done my livingroom, used it to cut the beading for the laminate and replaced the facing and skirting. Took no time at all, great bit of kit.

I assume that you'll know this all ready but Makita is a top make also.

i use hand saws, and screwdrivers easier to carry for littler jobs

wont go far wrong with a makita mate at all got a makita 7/14 skill saw use it all the time and its been spot on, i personally think dewalt aint to good over rated. stick to bosch blue, makita and hitachi for power tools imo
