My new job doesnt start until September so I might aswell become dole scum until then...............I see it more as a holiday

Also, I get council tax exemption - saves £100 a month or so

Dunno who told you that but its wrong. IF you apply for benefit you get Ctax benefit and housing benefit. Yuor still liable for water charges etc. Plus you might not get a full 100% benefit so dont expect to not be paying anything.

you USED to be able to back in the day (years ago) but they were meant to of stopped all that if you were classed as a fulltime student.

According to their website your right Cosmo

Who isn't eligible?
You can't usually get Jobseeker's Allowance if you're:

under 18
a full-time student
There are exceptions - particularly if you look after children - so it's worth checking with your local Jobcentre Plus to see if you're eligible

I think i d rather get a job, fuk only gettin that a week,get a job as a labourer? maybe only my opinion but i dont think i could be a bum til sept,wid do my heed in! r u still gettin that job up here Colin?

Joab center gave me a couple numbers for folk looking for short term labourers in my area, i'll phone them on Monday. Ive got something lined up to start End of July (good paying job) then im leaving that to become an Opito Apprentice up in Aberdeen
