engines, is it the c16xe vs x16xe?

what were the differances?
what can you do in terms on modifying, ie dbilas, tb's etc
are they pretty much the same engine?

anything else you can tell me?

The C16 had no emmision junk and 3 BHP more. Also has a slightly bette rhead design.

Apart form that, they are nearly identical.

Modifying is the same for each. Dbilas, TB's etc.

so if i was to get the c16 from a gsi i would probably be better off? but i should expect more miles on it? but in terms of dbilas/ebay inlets theyre the same?

they are the same yea. once a x16xe cylinder head is ported n bored out, this makes it exactly the same as the c16xe i think. aswel as the eco stuff yea.

If your going to buy an engine and re-build it, i'd get a C16. Just for the one reason it doesn't have all the junk on it.

If your not rebuilding, i'd go X16. You can get some low miler for not much money.

What can you do piston wise? i might do this properly, has anyone on here got a extremly modded 1.6 engine?

some c16's were better than others or something, had a code stamped into the head. i sold my c16xe for 350 to some rally fella due to this code in the head

Did they have a better head then? I know the C16 heads are meant to be better than the X16 heads.

so i was told, i didnt really pay much attention to the engine. some bloke rang me up, asked what code was on the head, i told him, he offered 350 and came and collected it the next day. didnt ask what it meant.

dave a or broster will know
