I've been put on "Gardening" leave!

When I put in my notice last week due to us moving, the hotel didn't react too kindly to it. They tried to make me work as a Barman for my months notice period (I'm Food & Beverage Manager!). I kicked up a stink, quite rightly, and went to HR who backed me.

My boss was told he couldn't make me work in a inferior position just because I had handed my notice in....so he has now decided to put me on Gardening Leave!

Basically I get fully paid for my notice period, but don't have to work!

What the fook am I going to do to fill in the next month! I can see my car being very shiney!!

Tbh....I have known that we were moving back oop North for a year, but didn't tell work until I gave my notice. But why should I tell them any earlier!

They really have cut their noses off to spite their face now....

My Dad was on gardening leave for over a year when he sold the business and done the 3yrs in his contract.

You can get other jobs during that time, just nothing in the same sector as what your on gardening leave from.

seeing as you live in an apartment and you are on gardening leave, there is only thing to do, and that is to set up a cannabis farm that counts as gardening right?
