I'm in the process of getting a C16XE block that has been over-bored to 1650cc.
Just wanting to is the 52cc jump safe? will it last a long time?
And most importanly, is that noticable in power gains?

Yes its safe, i know of a lot of 1600s that have been bored to 1650s.
How are you planning on running it tho?
Standard management?
Its fueling needs will be different.

Cheers Dave.
Jas - what it is, my bro has just bought a GSi that is over bored to 1650cc (only done 4 miles since rebuild)
So i'm having the complete bottom end (block, crank, pistons, rings, etc etc) and just wacking my c16xe head on it
Should go well

Yeah, standard management. It's all running using standard injectors IIRC.

Well, the standard ecu is mapped for a 1598cc engine...
I guess with it only being a slight difference, it might run quite well.
