I thought you were getting a Leon Cupra-R? Why do you now want a kevlar bonnet? Which is probably going to cost a ridiculous amount of money and more to the point impossible.

It's not impossible to make a Kevlar bonnet though. It's not really that hard either.

well tbh there woud be no point kevlar breaks down in sunlight so would need to be coated and never scratched otherwise would just degrade

No point, that's why Kevlar is commonly used as a composite a lot like fibreglass and carbon fibre.

do they not make speaker cones out of Kevlar?
And also Kevlar is half the price of carbon for the same size and weight sheet

a pure piece of kevlar (not composite) will degrade when brought into contact with uv light i.e sunlight
they taught us that at school

That's useless information though really as you would use it as a composite. That and the fact that everything that comes into contact with sunlight degrades.

kevlar... i can get pure kevlar fabric very cheap, cheaper than you'd belive just add surfboard resin but lots is needed. when i've re layered my roof and polished it i'll show you. if i can be arsed to finish my car anyway

ps surfboard resin has uv stabilisers and you can also add a uv clearcoat if anyones worried
