Colin, At last someone with sense who can see beyond the rest of the drivell on this page.
The key thing if your policies allow you to drive other cars, the car MUST NOT be owned by you or hired to you.
So no you couldn'y by a saxo and drive a lambo as you would own the lambo.
Also you could drive a lambo and leave it parked on the road. As the law states it is an offence to use, cause or permit the use of a motor vehicle on a road without insurance in respect of third party risks.
Therefore if the car is not moving then insurance is not needed.

Wrong wrong wrong.
If you buy a shitter and insure it fully comp and then go and buy a Lambo and drive it on your shitter insurance because your covered 3rd party, you won't be insured UNLESS the Lambo is insured by a 3rd party i.e its your dads car and its insured by him.

Spot on, In theory he could end up with 9 points couldn't he. Drive otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.

Technically you would but whether your dad would let you drive his 100k+ car on 3rd party insurance is debatable
