I was invited to attend Brandshatch today as a VIP guest of Audi UK.

Couple of the cars. 460bhp/500Ibs Torque

The Audi lounge was fantastic, and the hospitality and attention to detail was immense. This operation made last years vauxhall BTCC VIP lounge crap in comparison.

After being ferried from the carpark in an S8, this was the lounge. It is not a permanent building, but you wouldnt know it.
There were LCD TV's above the urinals too8)

The line up outside...R8, RS4 Avant & the new A5

Had breakfast on the balcony...

Then I was approached by a member of staff and asked if I wanted to drive one of the 5 RS4 Cabriolets around Brands Hatch for the start grid presentationmg  ...obviously I accepted the invitation

The cars were German left hookers. Mine had all of 90km on the clock. I was left in the car with a colleague and told to 'familiarise myself' with the car...excuse the picture of me - I had to wear the cap.

We made our way to the track...not sure how many people there were spectating, but I think there were atleast 15,000+

I was then met by 2 of the drivers who jumped in the back of car:smile:
I have to say that it was a surreal experience, and we were yet to go round the track at this point.

The starting grid. Full of activity and press/television cameras etc...progress was slow here as the media surrounded the car, and I managed to get some pictures.

After this, we set off behind the safety car for the grid presentation.
It was superb, although I didnt get out of 3rd gear.:surprised

All in all, it was a fantastic day with the added surprise of the above!

Bert Schneider (Mercedes) won in the end. More info here: www.dtm.com

After reading the paperwork I had, the ticket for just the VIP hospitality was 500 Euros. Jesus.
