Lostprohets and Avenged Sevenfold still fucking rule!
Mainstream sellout? A7X? Pllllease!!
regardless of how cool you think they still are that doesnt really matter, however, there music changed a lot from the album city of evil and the previous one.
not to mention they totally changed there look when the new album was released.
Lostprohets just went very down hill, lisen to there earler songs, "fake sound" ect and compare it to there new stuff quite dire.
plus i have no issue with a band being maintstream, just the fact a lot change there sound to appeal to a different audience for the mula.
Yeah I know what you are saying about Lostprophets, and imo, their latest image is gash, the Fake Sound album was very in with the trend at the time, very rock/dj'ing fusion type stuff - is it still good? Hmm, it's ok but the image at the time was very "american skater punk" and that's what they went for - despite not being american or skater punks.....
Start Something, imo, is one of the best albums of that genre for a long long time - it just about ticks every box, that album was their shining moment, the songs are good, the image was good - it was spot on, the image was a more refined rocky British look which was the right image to portait - being British and a rock band!
Liberation Transmission has gone off the boil - the album is good, the music is good, but the image just plain sucks! Whoever thought that they should go for some kind of emo/indie in cardigan, shirts and fingerless stripey gloves look should be dragged outside and beaten! It's awful and they look stupid for it!
As for A7X - I listen to City Of Evil over and over - it's a fantastic album!
The production on it is fantastic - it's so well produced!
The big band sound on some of the tracks is immense (The Wicked End in particular) with all the orchestra string etc etc - I love it!
Another album worth it's weight in gold is Stone Sour - Come What(ever) May, that is a stonking album with only one poor track (Cardiff), I'd strongly recommend it!

totallty agree dude, loved the theatrics of avenged sevenfolds city of evil. its a very distinctive album and what skills. shadows voice, love it mia, very profound, good perspective on iraq. i wouldn't call them sellouts personally. and download was fucking awesome iron maiden, what a show bruce's comments about sharon osbourne, legend. he called for her to be left with no teeth
biggest downside to he whole festival though was the security. what a fucking joke. conviscating peoples water so they had to pay £2.00 for 500ml in the site people can't be held to ransom over hydration also leaving the show took about 3hours last night. verydisorganised exit strategy. anyone else go?? was in front row for killswitch too. fookin loved it
