Was just heading back to the village with my mate, who picked up his new corsa SXI. Anyway, hes not long passed his test, and were going fairly slow, when we came to a set of traffic lights. He slowed right down, as they were over a blind hill. Over the crest, realised they were a good 50 meteres away yet, he was in 4th, and dropped down to 3rd, as the hill was quite steep.

So he was doing around 35-40, lights are green, no other cars in sight. Just as we pass the first lights, a police man jumps out from behind a bush, and waves us back. He went fucking mental at my mate, saying that if he caught him speeding in at roadworks (30 limit) again, then he would get him for dangerous driving. However, he was alone, had no speed gun, and had nothing on us.

We were then told to go, but he told us to go when we were in the middle of the traffic lights, and there was loads of traffic coming the other way. My mate panicked, and stalled the car. After we reversed back, the pig said "Look what trouble you've caused"

Should they of stopped us in a set of roadworks?

Sorry for the essay, just wondering, as I hate the guy that stopped us, got me done for breach of the peace on something so minor a few weekends ago, cunt

for starters you don't have to stop there and then, you can continue until you find a safe spot that you can pull over and not obstruct traffic.
But take it on the chin, he didn't have any proof (ie, no speed gun etc) to state that you were speeding and therefore he wouldn't (and didn't) have issued you a ticket.

Sounds like the copper was on a power trip more than anything and probably bored to buggery being on his todd

He probably saw two young lads in the car, thought they were speeding, and tried to put the shits up you, so you think more carefully about the consequences of speeding next time, they do it quite often, just so you know they're there.

We went past him, then stopped, and he was basically jumping up and down, pointing to reverse back to speak to him.

The most random thing is that where we were stopped was about 5 miles from the nearest place, dont know what the fuck he was doing there

we had a similar problem last nite, we were racing a 306 on our own private racetrack last night in a mate's mini, doing 110ish, got infront of the 306, saw our cut off, dived accross 5 lanes, looked in the mirror an saw blue flashy lights, was a good bit behind us so mate just kept going an we disapeared into a carpark for a wee while an mingled with the drunks coming out of coloursfest.
