I finish college in 2 weeks time & dont start my new job offshore until 4th September, am I meant to sign on the dole the day I leave college while I look for a temp job??? Ive never signed on before

Also does anyone know what the score is with paying council tax while your signed on???

Signing on is shite, only pays you lie £30 a week does it not?

Yeah but I might not get work straight away could maybe take a week or 2 so do I need to sign on??

I'd sign on.. gives you some odd money and they also help you look for jobs do they not?

You might aswell.. you aint got nothing to loose lol!

It's not "the dole" it's "job seakers allowance"

Yeah I agree with Kat, you'd get more doing temp work for the time being...

I'll get a temp job, im not going to take just anything though............so sign on the day I leave then once I find a job phone up & tell them???

Anyone know about council tax.............do you get relief from paying it while your getting 'jobseekers allowance' ?

With you being a home owner i think you might get benefits aswell, does it not say on the website?
