going away in december and this airport is a stop off to refuel, is it a safe airport for 3 white english men to be there 
anyone been ?
heard stories so far people spit on you

It's likely you won't even get off the plane, nevermind get into the airport itself to be 'spat on'.
My mate regularly goes to Tehran and never has any problems. You won't either.
