Taking into account the amount of tax the government make on Tax i wouldnt be surprised if the costs of treating smoking related cancer was less than the tax income from tobacco products.

for instance the tax on Cigarettes is 85% iirc, and when i worked in a local corner shop a couple of years ago it bought and sold around £9000 worth of cigarettes per week as most of the customers came in purely for cigarettes so i would think it's the same in most shops therefore the gov are making a shitload from it!

even though i smoke i would be happy if they Banned Cigarettes altogether as i wont be able to stop otherwise and nothing good comes from smoking i wish i never started!
