Is it just me, or does there seem to be an abundance of people out to try and scam money out of people these days?

Just been on ebay, and an item I clicked on took me too a fake sign in screen, then asked me to clarify my credit card details [obviously my sign in was abuse ]

Autotrader recently seems to be full of "bargain" cars that are going for a fraction of their retail price (or indeed the price most dealers would offer to buy the car cash if you actually needed some quick cash).

Also i'm advertising my car on AT, and have had a number of emails and phoncalls off people who apparently "have people waiting to buy my car" - I just need to give them £50 to pass my details on, or the usuall illiterate Nigerian banker who wishes to "purchase transaction 1.4 Corsa SRi 3dr from your possession" .

Seriously though - is there no such thing as an honest seller/buyer these days.

Not a scam but very wierd

"Lynn" is probably a chick with a dick

That or only you got one in your street, and "lynn" has a van full of pikey mates round the corner waiting to rob your house while you have your "facial" in a place that doesn't exist.... I'm not synical at all me

It's an 01 number, so isn't a premium rate - pretty sure even if it's diverted it's still charged at the initial rate and billed to the other person - not 100% though.

Three scenarios IMO:

1) It could actually be true then - might be a local place just opened up that's trying to get people in .

2) Could be a ploy to get your DNA off the card (presuming you'd have to take it with you when you got your facial done), and they'll clone you, and go to the bank and withdraw all your money

3) The elastic band is actually a mutant, and if you leave it in your house alone it'll morph into the Grinch and steal all your stuff in your house

These days, I'd give even bets on all three

I've never been scammed, touch wood. . .have sent £18 to a member on here for flat blade wipers though, pick up at PVS JOKING!

I bought an aerial off an eBay member. He assured me it was the length I wanted, then, it arrived at he'd measured what I meant in cm's in inches, so it was way longer. He gave me a refund AND let me keep the aerial!
