To be fair, the volvo is probably alot of fun, but I cant see why you would want want want one when there are probably 100 better cars to be had for the money.
please tell me what you can buy for £200 roughly, that is RWD, has better ballance than an AE86, and you can drift with £100 of prep work
Looks like more than £100 has been spent on that particular one. Personally though id rather have alot of FWD cars over something that is probably more fun but looks pants.

The 'Volvo' 1.4 and 1.7 in the 340 is a Ranault engine (same one as in the R5/9/11, 3 main bearings, wet liners), so it bolts straight in, splice a few wires and

so, the volvo 340 1.4 8v i guess, will accept a clio 1.8 16v engine, with little hassle?

As far as I know, yes, it bolts straight in, it definitely bolts up to the gearbox without any mods, not sure about the mounts, but I'd imagine so too, and AFAIK, ANY 4 cylinder renault engine is the same, so a Clio 182 engine would also work

Oh, and the Volvo 360 had Volvo engines, so ANY RWD Volvo engine will bolt up, like the 2 (might be a 2.3?) litre turbo from the 740

where, lots of places, i just think there cool
and yes robin your spot on
with the f16 into a 340 you have to use a 1.7 sump and crossmember iirc, so easier to put the F16 into a 1.7
