how well do corsa's cope with lots of miles? went to look at one earlier a 1.6 16v sport on a w plate, but it's got 135k miles on, engine sounds sweet as a nut, nice and quiet.

also what would the above car be worth? in average-good condition?

what would a low miler 1.6 16v on a similar year plate be worth?

1.4 + 1.6 16v engines have a tendancy to show age after 90k. Smokey, burning oil etc. Rings and valve stem oil seals a plenty.

In my experience, the engines are stong, mine has never tapped, rattled not either of them, but both have burnt oil and smoked alot.

mines got 135K and it doesnt smoke, and burns very little oil, its got full vauxhall history and ive just gave it a full service, runs fine, infact ive drove a slower 1.6 16v which had about 80k i think.

ive never been put off by high milage. simply becuase ive the engine goes bang then you can pic up a 1.6 16v engine for £300 with less than 40k.

this is my opinion, im sure other people will differ!

My old SRI 1.4 8v did 119k on the factory fitted cambelt! only thing to go wrong was the alternator packed in at about 105k proberly due to large stereo installed thoughout its life...
