I am new to this, and i am off to buy one this weekend.
There are alot of trail courses around where i live, been on a few with hire bikes.
Now i am wanting to go spend no more than £400 on one. I will need disks, and front suspension.
I have come to a choice of two but i dont know which one will be the best buy!
Any advice on which to go for and what to get would be appricated.
These are the two bikes:
Giant Terrago Disc 2007

or
Kona Blast 2006 Mountain Bike

Giant would be the best buy, without a doubt.
I used to work in a bike shop, and have been biking for over 10 years. All Giants are fantastic bikes, and Kona's now are little more than Halfords' specials.
Go for the Giant

GT Timberline 98. What a beast. Weighs more than your car. Made of pig iron and will last for ever.
