One of the lads here just came in for some service parts for a diesel astra. He just came back in and said
"you gave me the wrong diesel filter, this one doesnt fit!"
....thats the oil filter mate

Ed, did you ever chase up that bracket? The guy i bought one off hasnt replied to my emails since monday and thats the only contact info i have for him  Spoke to the garage today, engine is in the car, they had to redo quite a lot of the wiring, fit a battery tray and battery, new nuts and bolts etc, looks like the guy who took the engine out did quite a bad job of it. Least its on the way to getting sorted!

BUT!!!! Just been on the phone to Tanygroes scrapyard and he has an astra GTE in the yard. Hes going to go have a look if it has a bracket on the alternator then he will call me back.
