Hey everyone just wanted to know roughly what things will be checked when my car goes for its MOT in a few weeks. She didnt pass first time last year so this time i want to make sure everything has been checked. Hope u can help. Thanks

Hi Rach 
rust, all brakes are ok
exhaust isnt blowing
all doors open and shut properly
emissions< you cant test this unless you have a reader
no play in the steering anywhere from coloum to wheels
bearing cv's and all rubber boots intact
all tyres are good no cuts or splits
all lights work
no crack or chips on front windowscreen
probably more but thats just off the top of my head

did you not get a print out of what it failed on - as long as you have sorted them and nothing else has changed it whould sail through

Thanks guys. I've not taken it yet. Last year it was just window wiper blade, light bulbs and handbreak i think so not too bad this time i've got a feeling it'll be worse lol.
It does need a new lightbulb so far but i'll have to check the other stuff.
d_jay50 what do u mean when u say no play in the steering anywhere from coloum to wheels?

Oh yeah think wanna the cv boot things might need doing aswell. Changed 2 bearings already surely they would be making a noise by now if they needed doing???

wheel turns lossely without turning the wheels

So does that mean if it can turn a bit without the wheels moving is it a good thing or bad thing?? lol i'm thick. I think they're might be a slight power steering fluid leek will they check that or do they just check to make sure the fluid is full?

No, its might be to do with the steering rack.
