What car for around the £1,200

just want something diffrent from the corsa really. i think ill just have 6months out then ill get a xe or something along those lines. but what options are there.

ive looked at ibiza 2.0 8v , clio 1.8v, golf 2.0 16v gti (was bit pricey insurance)

vts/vtr although they wudnt be my choice but they are quick. Astra 1616 - although it may be hard to find a mk4 for 1200.
