As some will know I had a spanking new twin carbon can exhaust with 2 carbon tip 4" tails fitted last week. But with the smart car having a very active movement on the rear engine the exhausts moves quite a lot and one side of the exhaust looked far too close for comfort when it comes to a Smart car being made of plastic! lol

So booked the car back in at exhaustsUK in Sheffield on Tuesday (to go today/saturday) so I could take it back to them to re trim/cut the rear panels to give a better fit.

Now, what started out as a simple job ended up as nearly a new exhaust build!!

I was also worried about crazing on the carbon 4" tail pipes that had appeared, then when Pete @ exhaustsUK saw them he too was not comfortable with the appearance. Pete said he would swap the tails to stainless Steel for me then when checking the rest of the carbon cans a few small flaws were spotted in one of the rear cans. so guess what, lets whip those boys off and change them for a different style of carbon can at the rear what more service could I ask for.

5hrs later the 'Custard Tart' had had new Carbon cans and two new 4" Stainless Steel slash cut pipes fitted. The panel work was also tidied up to give a better fit, Simon worked his little socks off getting it right for me, spirit level and tape measure out each time checks needed making. Another top bloke at www.exhaustsUK.com

Once again very pleased with the workmanship and the look of the car, even if I have lost the carbon tips lol

On the ramp being finished off

the SLK imposter!!

here's looking at you kid

Sound wise the car seems lovely and loud, I'll give a better report on performance gain (if any ) when it's ran in a bit more.

can't thank exhaustsUK enough, can recommend them to you. even saw a scoob have a back box fitted too whilst there....... oh those were the days

Phil
