well it all started ...
monday night:
the old engine got taken out
tuesday night:
parts taken off old engine and put onto new,whilst the engine bay was getting sprayed & cleaned
wednesday night:
new engine in,started connecting bits and bobs.

and here we are, TONIGHT:
all fluids will be put in and anymore connecting up of parts will be done, then...

IT WILL BE TIME TO START IT !

ITS RUNNING !!!!



and feels better than ever! got it started at half 11 thu nite, after waisting an hour looking in the bay for a power lead, first turn of the key it wound over few times and just was away to fire when turned key back second time no problems, so its been running heaps,get the new engine/water etc rond the engine


MOT THIS WEEK ! will fly through it

swap for the same size mate, was a 2litre 16v (C20XE) before, now its a 2litre 16v (20XE)

once i get all my pics uploaded from the work thats been put into it will be better its a stadard engine, but spent alot of time cleaning it,replacing stuff

dunno, think thats what an early XE is ( 20XE) and the late ones (C20XE)

but thats just my conclusion! goes like stink !!!

car got its first polish today!




looking really clean , will be better once the key mark has been sorted and the wheels etc done!

speedlines, but getting them painted the same color as the rocker cover,cambelt cover,powercap,and the morrettes

volvo gray maybe,or a similar color

well

SHE FAILED



got everything sorted already though

Horn does not function
Nearside headlight aim too high
Front exhaust system has leak of gases

i knew about the horn prob, but at 11 0 clock on thu nite when we were trying to sort it, i decided FEK IT ! but found out where the prob was on fri afternoon (where it goes into the steering wheel at the back) so thats now sorted

The adjuster in the headlight is fooked so its shooting up too high gonna go to the local breakers and get one today

The exhaust leaking was barely anything,its where the manifold/front pipt on an XE joins onto the system after the flexi. so just took it apart and put paste in,and replaced the clamp as when we were doing the engine swap it got tightened a bit to much and had oulled one side of the clamp.

so be re-tested mid-week sometime !


ps-got an advisory on a front tire (near the legal limit)

well thats the car now ready to be re-tested,with full new handbrake,new exhaust clamp,and a new headlight


so phonin tomoro to get it for wednesday,taxed on wed too,then take it a drive cant wait
