It'll only be that match if he is paying no labour what so ever. The repair from my crash came to £1700 all in and that wasn't even a write off! That's a pretty expensive car compared to mine. For them to write it off, that is a lot of damage imho.

im a panel beater by trade and by glancing at those pics i cant see it gettin fixed for 5/600 with no labour charges

for a start it needs a bonnet wing prob be 2/300 for those alone new and genuine

paintwork (even at mates rates) and price of paint/ lacquer/primer etc etc

chassis alignment, if needed (id say a big chance of it)

needs light front panel etc etc which you may get in a scrappy etc etc

New dash, ECU e.t.c... They are expensive things, they make most modern cars get written off, but save lives so it's OK I guess

You're probably right. We charged £400 for a front end re-spray on new parts (but not including) on a Lupo in the same colour. Not sure what Matt has up his sleeve, but he does work at a VW garage so might be able to aquire the parts at a nice price...

i have much trickery up my sleeve the chassis doesnt need to be touched, thank god, otherwise i would not have purchased the car..

Total for parts is £2200 to me, including the hairbags, control unit and dash, plus the panels etc etc.. plus obviously paint which i have spoken to tom about

as for labour... feck all, will be stripping and fitting myself, plus i can code the airbag control unit at work

Breakers for dash/bags/ecu, i would have thought 500/600 to sort inside, 1500/1800 for paint would be closer to the mark!

£1500-£1800 for a front end? We don't even charge than much for a full same colour re-spray in that colour on that sized car.

I was referring to the fact that his two quotes seem mixed up I wasnt putting a price on it!

/Besides does a full respray have £800 worth of panels in the front end no thought not!

wonder the bags went off with no chassis damage, not really that common bags going off really, only on hard hard hits mostly..

u had the chassis and front end measured??

or even measured it with a tape to get an idea??

Steve, your guess is as good as mine, the pics are a tiny bit misleading tho, the damage is to the NSF, the other headlamp etc was fine just removed to inspect the damage..

Suppose it helps the complete front carrier being plastic tho..

it looks pretty straight but personally i would still get it up on a jig and all measured which may cost you about £130 but will save u alot of time if it is bent at all,

doesnt need alot of outer panels, maybe from panel, bonnet, wing bumper then paint and blend into O/F wing and N/S door.

cant you get a second hand dash?
is that the most amount of money in the repair?

Even if you repair it though its still going to have this crash and Cat C hanging over it so I don't see how you'll be able to check its value through Parkers.

Unless you can fix the lot for £1200 I cant see any profit in it.
