It was horrible we went into intensive car my dad looked like a skeleton with his throat open he was only havin a biopsy, we could see everyone who had their ops I wernt happy at all I felt sick and my dad was not completely of the anesthetic, all the doctors and nurses told us they where 98% sure he would die that night they put us through hell. he was recovered though and lived for a further 3 weeks.

I had a hernia repair back in 2003, NHS witing time was 8 months, with Bupa i had the choice of the same day (saw the consultant in the morning), next day, or a week later! Soo much cleaner than the Luton and Dunstable hopsital and alot better care all the way through from start to finish (including follow up consultant sessions)!
If you can afford it, i say pay for private care, your treated so much better and everything seems so much more professional than NHS from my experience.
Luton and Dunstable hospital almost killed my sister when she was giving birth to her son....couldnt hold him for the first 6 months of his life and shes still having complications..3 years on. Conveniently, all her hospital records recording all the mistakes and errors have been lost so there is no chance of sueing at the mo (as she is now completely incapable of having anymore children due to them causing so much damage to her internally)

I must admit, tonight I've been across to see him, couldn't get to the bed for doctors, nurses, surgeons, they were like flies round a hunny pot... he's sat in the chair with a pot of tea while they do all ther tests on him...
They've drained the fluid off his lungs to prevent pnewmonia(Major SP), now they have his breathing under control, his blood sugar is normalising...
Once he's stable they're going to find out wether it's his heart or kidneys causing it... but we still don't know what they can do as far as treatment goes, they've not said if it's ?? we can do ?? or if it's ?? we can do ??
But he looks tons better... I do take back a tiny bit of hatred I showed earlier

i broke a bone in my heel over a year ago and when i did it i went to hospital for x-rays. they said there was nothing wrong with me and sent me home
3 months later i got a phone call "er please com in we think we may have made a mistake" went in for another x-ray which showed it was actually broken but had healed now so nothin they could do. still hurts to this day if i stand on it too long

Is it any wonder mistakes are make when the NHS are under staffed, and the staff that are there work ridiculous hours for crap wages. Not to mention the amount of stress the nurses are put under every day!
I dont blame the NHS i blame the government.
