ive been offered a swap for my mk2 golf daily driver on this 2 litre 8 valve corsa,is the 2 litre seh any good heres a link to his ebay ad,the reserve was not met and the buyer is messing him around so he said he will swap my golf for it, needs a bit of tidying up,im thinking of using it as a track car, your thoughts please?

Just depends how much your car is worth. It looks to be ok - decent engine etc, id giv him a few hundred for it if i was interested.

probaly worth about £4 - 500 tops..pic below.

i still have a blue corsa im doing up lol,but id like something for track fun etc and it looks alright to me with a bit of work

If there are no cracks or anything in the chassis etc, bodywork sound enough then go for it, good luck

any idea what the engine came out of,it lookslike a mk2 cavalier sri 130 to me? are they any good?
id probaly get a gsi kit for it some comp mo's rip the roof vent off sell theosse crap makro seats fit a roll cage and get some cobra seats and get rid of the lamps and generally just tidy it up.

I thought the cavalier sri was a 16 valve. I no that the 16 valve will push your corsa to 60 in 6-7 secs and up to bout 140mph, so impressive enough. Im actually on my way to saving up for one now. Definitly get rid of the lamps and cobra seats wud be sweet. You could probably get a decent bit of money if you sell any bits that you dont want, thus making this an even better deal.

no, only late mk3 cav's were 16v's
could be the 130 or just the normal 2.0 8v, both look identical on the outside

cant see much going wrong with an 8v theyre usually pretty good engines,gonna go see the car later,might keep it as a road car or track car undecided lol
