Im going to stick my Alfa up for sale now the golfs almost made it to the road. Problem is its out of MOT & Tax in June!! Can I mot when its still got 2 months left so I sell with a full 12 months?? I remember someone saying you can only get one when its within 28 days or something!?

My 106 had 13 months MOT when i sold it 
It's the only car i've ever had mot'd so dunno how it works really

Yeh you can, if you take your old one in they will usually put 13 months on it depending on the garage

You can have it done whenever, but if it's within a month of the expiry date, they give you 12 plus whatever is left, anything before that and it will have 12 from the date of the test.

could MOT it every month if u wanted to but u will only get 12 months from the day it was MOT'ed
if its in its 11th month you can get it MOT'ed as of the future date it is due

mmm ok i'll maybe get it booked in. Think its not a good idea selling a car with 2 months MOT?? I could maybe reflect it in the price, im not after alot for it, 1500 would do. I know it will need new tyres on the back, feck knows what else!!
