my mates just bought a 2.0 turbo astra mk4... so i thought has to be a GSi. he said its still on autotrader, and mumbled something about it being a limited edition and only 1 of 500 ever made? i though bs but whats this? i think this must be the actual car hes bought...

Yes they were a stop gap between the SRi 2.2 and the GSi turbo
Only 500 made, in gloss red, metallic silver or metallic black - and, in my opinioon, look better than the GSi turbo

really. mad, learn somethin new everyday! though im not sure they look better than the GSi imo! are they the same engine / interior as the GSi?

there the same engine i think, but the SRi T's only came with the standard cloth interior.

Not sure if they did leather option?

prefer the GSi cos they have the recaros and the front bumper and wing spoiler, i just think the SRi rear splitter is nice thats about it

SRI Turbo is booked at 190bhp but its the same engine found in the GSI Astra, VX220 Turbo, Zafira GSI etc

1.8 16v books at 123/125bhp depending on source

2.2 16v books at 145bhp

The software on the GSi is different to the SRi hense a slight difference in power, you can goto Vauxhall and get the SRi ECU updated to the GSi spec though

You can get nice turbo coupe's for 6k, might go and look at one on the weekend, alot of car for your money, i wonder how it will compare with the ibiza cupra?
