Hello peeps, some of you might remember that i had an accident 2 1/2 years ago involving my car, ice and a bullard.

well the council have just sent through a letter asking for details of the accident so they can calculate the damage and fine me.

can they do this 2 1/2 years later

and why are they asking me for the details of the accident? should they not know allready and just fine me?

cheers

dont think i'll deny it as i dont want summons to go to court and all that.

but i may ask for some details and evidance of what the damage is.

but dont undertsand why they are asking me what i damaged.

maybe i could say i hit a kerb and see what they say lol.

dont reply to it unless you have taken legal advice.

will look at getting legal advice,

police charged me for the driving incident and i paid a fine and i thought that was all of it.
car was not worth fixing so i stripped and sold the parts on it.
so insurance was never notified.

so i never reported it.
and now 2 1/2 years later i get this.

If the police dealt with it that will be where the council got your address so will know it was you who done it.

^^^yer i suspected that.
got my name and all that wrong.

i'm not trying to get off it ( all though that would be sweet ) Just would like to know where i stand as this is so long after the incident.

BUT i was never seen to by the police at the scene of the bollard.
they must of some how put a 2 and 2 together.

I once received a parking ticket 2 months after my car was stolen in Chicago (twas a 1983 Buick Regal with a Chevy 350cid engine out of a 1971 Camaro). I was pissed. I guess that's where the bastards parked it after it came out of their chop shop.

I would ask a lawyer's advice about teh time lapse. Seems like there should be time limit on stuff like that. In America it's called "Due Process". There's also that nasty little detail called "proof".
