RX8 drinks oil. High maintenance costs, think u'd be dissapointed with the "230bhp" as I know there NO-WHERE near as quick as the astra (aye, the larger exhausted ones, not the peashooter ones).
TT - Pleeeeeeeasssssseeeee, missis boss has got one and he's the biggest tarty "look at me look at me" ever... Salon hairdresser owners car...
VX220, if its the Turbo, awesome little car. Cheap to maintain, reliable, and will get the money back for it im sure as they arn't made anymore.
But its a nice budget and theres a lot of options about for that money.

The new TT is 100% not a hairdresser car daimo, much more focused as a drivers car

James, its a tarts car, its for tarts who can't afford a pimped out convertable Mercades. Sorry, i just dislike TT's, they jsut don't do anything for me.
2.2 is ok in the VX, but get to 70mph, and you will be wanting much much more. Turbo provides it.
Steves got a good one in the S2000, i'd be tempted, best of both worlds, cheap to run, reliable, quick, and good on track.

buy my vx220................ its up for sale now, little over your budget, its only don 11k miles and on 04 plate still in warenty etc
here are some pics:-
i sooooooooo dont wanna sell it now:-

just tidyed up bodywork its totally mint now.........i am gonna miss this car so much and if u can live with some of the impractically of it u will love it, on a sunny day u u will love it!
after having vx220 turbo i am gonna struggle to find a car i want more after having this!!
0-60 in 4.7secs..........easily tunable, with extra 30hp u will have 0-60 down to 4.3, if u wanna do more tuning u will into the high 3 sec mark i think

Insurance is sky high, and finding a good example around my price range is abit difficult
Looked the 350Z, but as usual good examples for around 12k are not there to be had
