any good?
dont expect the best in the world but £300 down to £150 for the mens full suspension looks ok - disk brakes front and back too, in black/silver
guy said the apollo one for £144 was better but had thin frame and in white/red - yuck
so, any one got one?

 Because he gets trained to sell Halfords own shit I expect.
Most things in Halfords are seriously overpriced and generally crap - Their top end Carrera stuff is just starting to be acceptable base line bikes.

Rarely any incentives for staff at halfords - only really on sell a bike, helmet, lights get £1
Dont bother speaking to any monkeys, at worst speak to the "Specialist". They are the time-served monkeys whom normally there for 5+ years and aiming for managment one day

If you want something for around £150, I recommend the Giant Rock.
The problem with cheap full suspension bikes (even £300 mark) is that they have shitty bushings at all the moving joints, which where out after 6 months and are REALLY hard to replace. Full a decent full suspension, you need to spend £850+!
How do I know this? Been into serious mountain biking for nearly 12 years. Used to work in a proper bike shop, that sold kids beginner bikes from £55 to £5000+ custom builds.
The Giant Rock was an extremely good seller - front suspension, v-brakes etc. Doesn't sound good, but it had an crom-alloy frame and they hardly ever went wrong if maintained. It's also said, that on cheap, full suspension bikes you lose near 35% of your pedalling power when it bobs up and down.
My advice, jump onto evanscycles.com as they do mail order and have places all around the country. They are the first 'chain' 'proper' bike shop.
So in short answer to your question - not, it'll be tat. The fact they've had to reduce it by 50% must also tell you something?!

Only thing even worth considering in halfords is some of the bike hut components and some carrera models. I personally have the 05 model carrera fury with a few upgrades and personally think its an ok bike

ye, for £150 you dont want front and rear suspension and dics brakes, coz the suspension will be crap as will the brakes, for your budget look for something with just front suspension and v brakes.

I JUST brought a bike yesterday dont really know much about them! and wanted one to ride to get a little healtheir!
brought appollo something front suspention disc brakes alloy frame etc seems pretty good to me!

Any bike will fit that criteria. At the same time you can't be too choosey! You can tell which of the Halfords bikes are of better quality than the others. The only downside is it might be ready for the tip after a years all weather use.

Just buy the half price one, if your just wanting it for light excersise & not taking it seriously you cant go wrong!!
I used to be right into bikes, joined a club, went on regular outings & did some downhill racingm, had a £1500 bike before I could drive I loved it, then it got abandoned. I bought another one last year for about £200 & it does the job fine for what I require it to do!!
