Probably going to Newquay for the August bank holiday weekend. Not sure where to go, it will be a mixed group of around 10 people.
Is Smugglers Haven any good? Is it close to the town etc?
I like the look of Hendra but it says families or couples only, and I would hate to end up somewhere that I felt we were pissing people off due to being loud etc......

go to sunny side, not too far from town, buses run from the complex to the town(organised by the site) and you need not be worried about being loud etc

im abit gutted about sunnyside tbh, i know you could get dickheads there and theres a few horror stories with the security but the site was huge and had to be by far the biggest in newquay.
to your original question smugglers gets put above sunnyside by alot of people, basically you will get a camp with people from your generation who are in newquay for the nightlife and/or surfing which is all you need really.
does anyone know if the other 18-30 style camps are just going to be fully booked now because of sunnyside?

I've been there a few times. Never had any trouble although if you want to sleep at all it's probably not the best place. It's pretty noisy all night so unless you pass out sleeping can be tough. There are a few twats but that's the same wherever you go. Nice cheap buses to town as well.
